The Matrix features a polymer exterior, mated to an aluminum internal frame and wrapped with our exclusive foamed vinyl grip. These materials and construction are preferred by some users for tactile comfort in cold weather, and those looking to shave some weight off the duty belt. The Matrix incorporates Dual Fuel Technology, so you'll never be without a power source―it runs with either the included rechargeable 18650 battery, or 2 optional CR123A primary (single use) cells. The 18650 battery charges inside the flashlight, using the supplied cord, or any USB-C phone/electronics charging cord―no separate battery charger needed.
Premium components include a Cree XPG2 LED, gold-plated connectors, polished aluminum reflector and optical glass lens. In keeping with our emphasis on intuitive design and simplicity in our law enforcement tools and training, activation of the Matrix is via a single pressure switch on the tail cap. A quick double tap of the switch activates a secondary/low setting at 15 lumens. A 3-position twist selector allows choice of intermittent, constant-on, or locked.
The included 18650 Lithium-Ion battery also features its own, integrated USB-C charge port. This means that in addition to in-light recharging, the battery can be charged on its own, simply by plugging the charge cord directly into the cell.
