The Spectrum is our first-ever multi beam-color tactical flashlight. In addition to its primary white light, it offers red, green and blue beams, as well as a low level and strobe, for a total of six available modes. The high white mode is always the default, while any of the others can be user-programmed as a secondary level, activated with a double-tap of the tail switch. Law enforcement applications for alternate-colored beams include:
- Red: Preserves night vision
- Green: Extends run time, may not startle animals
- Blue: Cuts through fog, tracks blood and other bodily fluids
The flashlight comes standard with two high-performance ASP CR123A primary cells, but is Dual Fuel capable; you can upgrade the Spectrum to rechargeable, simply by purchasing an optional 18650 lithium battery or a complete Dual Fuel Charge Kit. Installing the 18650 battery activates additional onboard features, including a charge status light and remaining charge capacity indicator.
Like all ASP tactical flashlights, the Spectrum is built to the most demanding law enforcement duty standards. It’s machined from 6061 T6 aerospace aluminum and type III hardcoat anodized in a proprietary matte black finish. The barrel is wrapped in our exclusive, all-weather foamed vinyl grip. Premium components include Cree XPG LED, gold-plated connectors, polished aluminum reflector and optical glass lens. In keeping with our emphasis on intuitive design and simplicity in our law enforcement tools and training, activation of the Spectrum is via a single pressure switch. A 3-position twist selector allows choice of momentary, constant-on, or locked.
Finally, the Spectrum is an extraordinary value. It packs this incredible feature set, and the best-in-class ASP quality and performance you’d expect, into a price you might not expect—just $79.
NOTE: ASP flashlights feature removable/movable pocket clips, which vary by model:
Lights with a screw connecting the clip to the ring around the flashlight: Use a 1/16 hex key* to back out the screw, then remove the clip and ring.
Lights without screw connecting clip to ring: watch video here for instructions
*Most ASP baton scabbards and Tactical Light Cases include a 1/16 hex key, stowed behind the belt clip.ASP Quick Look - Spectrum DF Flashlight
