While it may have a variety of useful applications, the Push Knife is first and foremost designed to be a last-resort defensive tool, primarily in a firearm retention scenario. This discreet knife is typically carried on the officer’s support side and brought to bear with the non-dominant hand, leaving the officer’s strong/weapon hand free to control his or her handgun.

The Push Knife features a 2.25”, single-edge blade with our signature Shark Fin™ spine contour. Unlike typical double-edged knives of this type, this design allows the knife to be used safely for utility cutting in addition to puncturing. So, in addition to its primary defensive purpose, the PDK Push Knife can be used for cutting seatbelts, opening boxes or other containers, and similar tasks. The blade is machined from AUS-8 steel, which takes and holds an edge with great durability, and is easy to maintain. Its black PVD finish is non-reflective, so it won’t call attention to itself on the duty belt or vest.

The knife’s T-handle design assures positive retention and control, with gross motor skill simplicity. The underside of the handle features a grooved surface on one of the “wings.” This tactile reminder identifies the spine side of the knife—so when the grooved side is up, the blade is facing down.

Finally, each PDK Push Knife includes a premium quality, custom polymer sheath with molded-in retention. The sheath includes a removable, heavy-duty spring steel clip that fastens securely to belts or web gear up to 2” wide. The 1.25” slots are provided for directly threading thinner belts or webbing, while four grommeted holes allow carrying on a lanyard or ball chain (not included), or lacing to duty gear.

There are two available versions of this knife: The “G” variant features a textured polymer overmolding, completely encapsulating the handle for added grip. The “S” variant is skeletonized, keeping bulk and weight to an absolute minimum.

IMPORTANT: Use of a knife as a defensive weapon constitutes lethal defense. Officers must be properly trained, and must know and adhere to their agencies’ policies regarding the carrying or use of edged weapons.
