Caring for your knife
With its focus on daily utility, the PDK is designed to be easy to maintain, with just a few tips:
- As with all quality knives, keep your PDK clean and dry. After thoroughly drying your knife, apply a thin coat of oil to the blade and pivot point, open and close blade several times and wipe off excess.
- With proper use of a quality stone, rod or other honing device, the AUS-8 blade sharpens easily and holds an edge well.
- With its “flipper” opening design, the PDK is best carried folded with the blade facing back and the tip pointing up.
- The quick-release pocket clip makes it easy to switch between right- and left-handed carry, without tiny screws to deal with or lose. Simply insert the double lock pin of a handcuff key—or a similar thin tool—into the hole seen in the clip slot. Press the pin firmly, slide the clip out, and slide it into the slot on the opposite side of the grip until it clicks positively into place.
